About Us
Mobile Wallet Media is a media, consulting and analyst firm focused on the future of innovation in mobile commerce. The author, Randy Smith was the primary founder, inventor and former CEO of MobilePayUSA. This company launched at TechCrunch Disrupt in the Fall of 2010 as a Startup Alley Winner. He recently launched MyCreditVault, showcasing a solution to end ID Theft and provide a secure future for all financial transactions.

Randy is the Founder and Chief Editor of Mobile Wallet Media. Randy earned a degree in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University ('91). In 1994-5, his company, Good2Go Restaurant Delivery, piloted take-out food delivery on behalf of Ruby's Diner, Black Angus, Z-Pizza and others. Good2Go was Restaurants on the Run's first acquisition. This company taught Randy much about retail marketing and having a network mind set. It led to designing one of first Social Networks FriendShare.com in 1999 (like Plaxo Shared Address Book + social network to share with friends & family) and Social Circles in 2008 (just like Google+). Neither software project made it to public beta, but provided a track record of having an accurate view of future trends that would come to dominate Internet and communications.
About Randy Smith
In 1996 Randy came up with an idea for a Universal Payment and Loyalty Card. He saw that such a card would provide unparalleled convenience, and after years of R&D, it lead to the invention of MobilePayUSA. Randy left MobilePayUSA in 2012. Linkedin profile

Randy has no qualms about calling it as he sees it. He believes that knowledge is like a mountain to be climbed whereas the higher you go, the further and with more clarity can one see. Yes, he is an avid hiker and says hiking helps him solve problems and form new ideas. It is his belief and assertion that he has gained an in-depth understanding of card and mobile retail payments, security, loyalty, POS software, marketing, advertising and social media. This, he implies, enables him to have a 'Universal or Holistic view' of the entire mobile and retail transaction chain and is one upon which a reliable platform for the future of mobile commerce may be built upon. He acknowledges that his time and resources are limitations to attain comprehensive viewpoints, but the freedom he has had to focus pointedly on research and development of choice for the past 16 years, is what sets his viewpoint and opinion apart from the rest. He knows these are bold statements, but he says "The past is the best predictor of future."

He wants to make it clear that any knowledge shared, that proves to be wise, is not of his own (if it is dumb it is of his own), but gleaned from much wiser sources than himself - quite often of which, the source is God. He is open to offers he cannot refuse, to not broadcast key insights here and instead funnel them to just one company.

Vision Statement on the Future of the Mobile Wallet
In the next 5 years retail point of sale technology will change radically. The mobile wallet will be become the hub of all financial transactions. The way we pay, find products and discounts, support causes and redeem tickets, daily deals, gift cards, coupons, rewards and offers will all be performed through a single, simple to use and secure mobile wallet.

It will also be the gateway to retail reach. Ads and promotions will be generated by past purchases, current location and social media influence. The mobile wallet must be consumer-centric and turnkey for merchants and consumers to engage. The mobile wallet must work as simply and seamlessly as your debit or credit card does now for retail, e-commerce, Pay at Table, Pay at Pump, wireless or ATM transactions, all without major changes at point of sale.

Our financial transactions will be secured through real-time mobile GPS and pin or biometric authentication.
The sharing of social security, bank account or bankcard numbers will no longer be a necessary risk to complete transactions. And the mobile phone will be used to lock and unlock doors, autos, PCs, devices and even your credit file or credit card.
